5 tips to Lose Belly Fat Quickly

You Are What You Eat
You’ve probably heard someone say this cliché before: “You are what you eat.” It’s true. The food and drink that you put into your body are its fuel, and it’s that fuel that the body uses to build and repair itself. If you eat unhealthy foods, you will be unhealthy. If you eat healthy foods, however, you will be healthy. Here are five more reasons to start eating and living a healthier lifestyle.

1. Your body will be more resistant to colds and flu.

Wouldn’t you like to have a naturally more effective immune system? When you live a healthy lifestyle, you are much more likely to be able to fight off infections, without the need for antibiotics or other medications.

2. You can avoid some of the most common societal diseases.

Cutting out sweets is part of my current weight reduction program. I have lost 13 pounds and need to lose 17 more.
These are diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, etc.—the ones that are caused largely by lifestyle, rather than just by family history or by chance. When you eat the right foods and exercise, you have a much lower chance of getting any of this disease early in life and later in life. I have all three. It is not fun!

3. You’ll have more energy for your day.

Just like putting better fuel into your car will pack more of a punch when it comes to powering your car, fueling your body with the right foods will give you more energy throughout the day. This is why, for example, it’s important to eat a proper breakfast, because it’s how your body fuels itself during the day. More energy means more fun and more productivity! At age 83, I don’t have much punch but I do get around.

4. Losing weight is an automatic side effect.

Eating healthier and working out are the best ways to lose weight. Even if that is not your main reason for living a healthier lifestyle, it can definitely be a positive side effect of taking these steps. You don’t even have to put that much effort into it, it just happens! But you must cut out the crap; fast foods and excessive sweets. I have 8 fruit trees and a grape vine so I can stay away from other foods that taste sweet. And I feed the birds. They eat seed (grains from my feeder and fruit from my trees and bushes. Healthy!
Right now I’m trying to lose weight. I need to lose 85 pounds. I’m half way. Fifteen pounds to go. I’m using my Big Fat John method where I write down in a little note book what I eat, one food on a line. Just writing down what you eat helps. I get down to under 1500 calories a day just by doing that.

5. You will sleep better and have less stress.

My wife and I once walked together. Now she is too ill.
Bad habits and bad foods put a strain on the body and mind. When you live a healthier lifestyle by eating the right foods and exercising, your body will be under less stress and you will actually sleep better, which means more energy and motivation for the next day!
You want to stay active. I take my grandson fishing every week, teach my granddaughter how to paint and her son how to draw. I take a walk everyday. I photograph the birds in my trees eating my fruit (along with the squirrels) and I paint landscapes and critters (on canvas because I can’t catch them.) I go birding when I can. And, of course, I work my websites.
